At TCSC Kamloops, we are always looking for ways to make your hour with us the best part of your day. You may have noticed a new section in your SugarWOD notes lately for SIXTY workouts: The Workout Blueprint.
We’re experimenting with this section partially just for fun, but also with the goal of elevating our experience. While the reps, sets, and movements tell you what we’re doing, the Blueprint tells you how it should feel and why it matters.
Lately, I’ve been diving deep into the art of storytelling, charisma, and buy-in. I’m intrigued by the utility of these tools—not just for entertainment, but for conveying context, explaining our "why," and ultimately selling people on what’s important to us. The "Blueprint" is a way to turn a technical instruction into a mission.

Let’s be honest—seeing "RPE 8" or "Sustain Stimulus" on a screen can feel like a math equation. Telling you to "treat the first ten minutes like a steady climb up a mountain, and the final two like you're racing the sunset to reach the summit" gives you a mental image to chase.
Whether it’s a "slow-burn thriller" or a "5-minute action sequence," understanding the "vibe" of the workout helps you pick the right weights and intensity. When you know the goal, you get better results.
We live and breathe fitness terminology, but we know you have a life outside these walls! Using analogies acts as a shortcut—it removes the barrier of "gym-speak" so we can spend less time talking and more time actually moving.

4. The "Fun" Factor
Training hard is a "chore" if you let it be. We think of our classes as a hobby (that makes you really fit) and we get to do them, not have to. We want you to be engaged. Good analogies and clear missions make the hard work resonate.
Next time you open SugarWOD, take a second to read the Blueprint. Visualize the "story" of the workout, and let’s take your training to another level.
Worst-case scenario? It makes the hour a little more fun. Best case? It gives you the edge you need to truly crush your goals.
See you on the floor!
If you’re tired of just "doing a workout" and you’re ready to start chasing a mission, we want to meet you. Whether you’re a competitive athlete or a total rookie, our community and our "Blueprint" approach are designed to help you level up.
