With the CrossFit Open behind us, we’re entering a new phase of training inside the TCSC SIXTY program. Over the next several weeks you’ll see a gradual shift in programming as we reset from the Open, reintroduce variety, and begin building toward a focused strength cycle heading into the summer months.
Below is a quick overview of what’s coming up.
Starting Monday, March 17, we’ll kick off a Post-Open Transition Phase.
The Open is a fun and intense period of the year, but it also compresses training into a weekly test format. This phase gives us a chance to reset, rebuild, and expand the variety of workouts again.
We’ll also keep things flexible as the CrossFit Quarterfinal workouts are released (March 26–30). When those workouts drop, we’ll dabble in a few of them throughout the week for athletes who want the experience.
As spring arrives, you’ll also notice running and outdoor carries appearing more frequently, allowing us to take advantage of better weather and bring some fresh stimulus into conditioning workouts.

The week after Easter we’ll be running our Bring a Friend Week. You can send your friend HERE to learn more about it and sign up!
This is always a fun and high-energy week in the gym, giving members the opportunity to introduce friends, coworkers, or family members to the TCSC community.
Workouts during this week are designed to be accessible for new athletes while still delivering a great workout for regular members. Expect partner-friendly formats, strong coaching support, and plenty of class energy.
If you’ve been thinking about inviting someone to try a class, this is the perfect opportunity.
Beginning Monday, April 13, we launch the TCSC SIXTY “Spring Into Clusters” Strength Cycle.
This will be a linear strength cycle focused on a few key lifts, utilizing cluster sets as the primary training method.
Cluster sets introduce short, controlled rest periods within a set, allowing athletes to perform more high-quality reps at heavier loads than traditional straight sets.
The goal of this cycle is simple:
Build raw strength in major lifts while maintaining great movement quality and bar speed.
This type of structure allows athletes to:
• Train with heavier loads
• Maintain better technique throughout sets
• Accumulate more quality volume
• Improve strength without excessive fatigue

Cluster sets break a larger set into smaller “mini-sets” with very short rest periods between them.
Instead of performing all repetitions continuously, athletes briefly rack the bar, reset, and continue the set.
This approach helps maintain bar speed, movement quality, and power output, especially when training at heavier intensities.
