TCSC SIXTY CYCLE: 2026 Summer Playground
July 6 – August 23, 2026
Welcome to Summer Playground!
Our newest 7-week SIXTY training cycle is here, and we're excited to spend the rest of the summer helping you become a more complete athlete.
Unlike some of our previous cycles, Summer Playground isn't built around rigid strength days or fixed weekly movement patterns.
During our Cluster Set Cycle this spring, for example, each week had dedicated strength days that allowed us to make very measurable progress on specific lifts. That style of programming works extremely well—but it also naturally locks each week into a fairly predictable structure.
You'll still see recurring themes and progressions throughout the cycle, but with much more flexibility to shape each week differently. That freedom allows us to create varied, engaging classes that develop strength, coordination, confidence, athleticism and movement quality while keeping every week feeling fresh.

Our primary linear progression this cycle will be the Overhead Squat.
Over the next seven weeks we'll gradually build overhead strength, stability, mobility and confidence through a wave-loading progression before finishing with a heavy test during Week 7.
Whether you're working toward your first quality overhead squat or chasing a new personal best, we'll provide scaling options and progressions to help every athlete improve.
One of the biggest focuses this summer is simply becoming a better athlete.
Throughout the cycle you'll regularly see opportunities to develop movement skills that don't always fit neatly into a traditional strength program.
These may include:

Olympic lifting will continue to be a recurring theme throughout the cycle.
Expect snatches, cleans, jerks, positional drills and technical skill work designed to improve efficiency and confidence with the barbell.
We're also excited that our coaching team will be participating in the Burgener Strength Level 2 Course, hosted right here at TCSC on July 18–19. As always, we're looking forward to bringing fresh coaching ideas, drills and techniques directly into our classes.
One new feature you'll notice throughout the cycle is the introduction of more athletic supersets, inspired by our Meat Department program.
Rather than simply performing sets of a lift, we'll often pair a primary strength movement with a complementary exercise that reinforces athletic performance.
Examples might include:
We'll continue expanding our growing collection of official TCSC benchmark workouts.
You'll see a mix of returning favorites alongside brand-new benchmark workouts as we continue building a library of repeatable tests that athletes can revisit year after year to celebrate progress.
