Congratulations 🎉 TCSC Kamloops' newest member of the elite "2000 Level" in our #JUSTSHOWUP program, Brenda Payne! Reaching the 2000 Level means Brenda has completed at least 2,000 workouts at TCSC Kamloops —an incredible accomplishment. And for longtime members like Brenda, that number doesn't even include the early days before we tracked check-ins through our gym software!
Since joining TCSC in 2019, Brenda has gone from never having tried CrossFit to becoming an integral part of our community. She introduced our Recharge class to TCSC and now coaches a variety of classes, including our infamous Legends class. Brenda is always up for a little friendly competition and often brings fellow members of the "Payne Train" along for the ride. Her most recent accomplishment, podiuming at the 2026 Gauntlet alongside her daughter, Grace!
Congratulations, Brenda! You bring positivity, energy, and enthusiasm to every class, whether you're coaching or participating. You are an inspiration to all of us, and we can't wait to see what the next 2,000 check-ins bring! đź’Ş

What is your favorite & least favorite movements?
Don’t really like or dislike anything - some movements are just way more difficult and others are a long ways out of reach at this point.
What inspired you to start your fitness journey at TCSC?
Seeing the way the community welcomed, supported, and encouraged my daughter when she joined.
Do you remember your very first workout at TCSC?
I remember that when I first started going to the 60 classes I would only stay for the skill and then leave as I was too overwhelmed to do more than that. It was a very steep learning curve!
If you had a "Hero" WOD named after you, what would it look like?
Chipper with basic buckle down and get it done movements like walk walks, burpees, box jumps, deadlifts, and overhead presses.
Do you have a go-to pre-workout meal or snack?
Oat milk double shot latte. Cottage cheese & berries or homemade energy balls (with instant coffee!)
What is your favorite/most memorable TCSC event you've participated in?
The very first Classic with Walt & Mitch Thibeault - we were thrilled to just survive every event. And partnering with my youngest daughter Grace in last year’s Gauntlet - something I never would have imagined possible 7 years ago.
What is your go-to pump up song?
Anything upbeat and positive - especially music with a Latin influence. A little mid workout Pitbull makes my day!
2000+ workouts is quite the milestone! What keeps you coming back and staying so consistent?
I like feeling capable, independent and able to embark on any adventures that come my way! I also like that the opportunities to learn and Improve are infinite.
What advice would you give someone who is just starting at TCSC?
Give yourself the gifts of time and patience. Good things happen outside our comfort zone!
